December 2006 - Jill's preparations for the Wigmore have included performances at the historic church of St Anne's Kew, and a full house at Croft Hall, Hungerford.

November 2006 -Jill's debut in the Brahms -Saal of the Vienna Musikverein, on the 11th, is a great success. Once back, Jill is preparing for her forthcoming Wigmore Hall recital on January 12, and a more unusual project, a concert in Handel's Church in Stanmore on his own organ.


 

October 2006 - as previews of her concert in the Vienna Musikverein next month, Jill will play a number of recitals in and around London. The link in the logos opens a site detailing the Mozart celebrations in Vienna in 2006

September 2006 - We are delighted to announce that Jill's recording of Bach's Well-tempered Clavier will be issued on Signum Classics. Click on the logo for further details of this label, which has become one of the leading independents in Britain.

July - Concerts have included a candelit performance of Bach's Goldberg Variations for the Carlisle festival in the cathedral.

 

May - Good reviews for Jill's latest fortepiano disc have included International Record Review.

April - Among concerts this month, a return to the historic Sir William Turner's Almshouses at Kirkleatham, Cleveland.

 

February - A highly successful return to the Wigmore Hall in the early part of the month (see below).

January - Jill has given a debut Bridgewater Hall recital and a recital to mark the 250th anniversary of Mozart's birth and the annual celebration of John Ogdon's birth in his home town of Mansfield.

May- A flurry of recording and post-production activity for this month and next- the Restoration House project is currently in post-production, and there has been a recording of a concert at Yewfield (Lake District). April- Jill's recording of the Bach Goldberg Variations features on the cover discs of Classic FM magazine that form a small selection of the full list of pieces in its Hall of Fame. Invitations for the next season include the opportunity to give a concert to celebrate both Mozart's 250th birthday and commemorate that of John Ogdon in his home town of Mansfield.

February - Jill's concert at Restoration House, Rochester, was extremely well-received and will appear as a recording. This will be her first recording on a period instrument and may also lead to the first studio recording project to be completed in the venue. December- Jill played at the Wigmore Hall for the second time this year on Sunday 5 December- click on the Wigmore logo below to see details of the programme.

November- Jill has featured on Classic FM's 'Afternoon Selection' of recordings.

The provisional edit of Book 2 of Jill's recording of Bach's 48 Preludes and Fugues has been completed (editing- David Hinitt of Floating Earth). Samples will be available on-line further into post-production.

October - Jill's Apex recording of Bach's Goldberg Variations continues its second life as illustrating music from the films in which this work was used. The opening aria represents The English Patient on Classic FM Magazine's cover disc 'Greatest Movie Music', just as the closing one was used in the Warner Classics/ RPO compilation 'Classic Flicks' for Hannibal. August- Jill has just recorded Bach's Well-tempered Clavier Book II (see below, July) in West Road Concert Hall, University of Cambridge; with leading independent recording engineer Mike Hatch of Floating Earth. (Click on logo to see details of FE's many activities). The recording is currently in post-production.

July- Jill has been preparing for a number of recording projects, including the Bach '48 Preludes and Fugues,' Book II and the keyboard works of Rameau.

In the Bach project, Jill is benefiting from the kind assistance of Dr Yo Tomita, of Queen's University, Belfast, who is the editor of the forthcoming new Henle edition of Book II. We should make clear, however, that the recording is to be made in advance of the appearance of the edition and cannot fully benefit from it. You can read about Dr Tomita, who also compiles the Bach bibliography and has a number of research interests outside the Well-tempered Clavier, through clicking on this logo:

June- At the Regis Music Festival, Jill and her brother Neil performed Grieg's two Peer Gynt suites with an brief adaptation of Ibsen's play, narrated by Catharine Hartley, the first woman to walk to both Poles. Click on the logo to see details of the venuw for this festival.

April- Jill returned to the college where she studied, the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, for the first time since graduating, and performed Bach's Goldberg Variations, with great success.
